#SpringForward 2021

The pandemic has been going on a looong time. It hasn’t stopped our YVoters from educating themselves and their peers about how they can make positive civic change in their city and in our country.

Here is a taste of some of the workshops and events we’ve been involved with beyond our biweekly Activist Forums and Peer Leader Workshops.

On April 15, our YVote youth and Next Generation Politics Civic Fellows teamed up with Generation Vote, Vote 16 USA, and Oregon-based Next Up Action Fund to co-host a powerful “Coast to Coast: Lowering the Voting Age event.”

Our YVoters commit to running issue-based workshops for peers as much as they can. Check out some of our powerful peer to peer workshops like:

Karla’s Anger to Advocacy: Police Violence Workshop–April 15, 2021
Lauren & Keyla facilitate LGBTQ+ workshop for Middle College National Consortium–Mar 22
Kekeli & Milena facilitate Environmental Justice workshop for MCNC–Feb 2021

We’ve been part of an eye-opening We’ve Got Issues series with NYC Votes and the Department of Youth & Community Development through which YVote youth converse with peers and representatives of local government to better understand their roles and responsibilities and share with other young people. This is a key part of becoming informed, engaged voters! Sign up for our Episode 5: Borough Presidents on Wed, May 5 at 6PM here
