YVote Change Makers 2022-2023

YVote Change Makers programming has already begun for the 2022-23 school year. Please come back to this page in the spring to apply for our Summer Change Makers program!

In the meantime, read below to learn about a recent event our current YVoters hosted at Lehman College in the Bronx this election season.

YVote and Lehman College partnered to host a Haunted House of Democracy on Oct. 27, 2022 to celebrate Vote Early Day. The event was Lehman College’s first in-person event since the COVID-19 pandemic began and over 200 Lehman College students attended. YVoters led students through election-themed rooms, such as the “mad science” of voter suppression and “skeletons” of democracy, to encourage them to vote in this year’s midterm elections. Voter registration forms were available thanks to NYC Votes, who registered over 20 students for future elections. The event was made possible through support from a $5,000 MTV Vote Early Day mini-grant. Read more about the event in this article from The Bronx Times.
